I took this photo in Madrid, walking past one of those quiet apartment blocks, imagining what it might be like to live in one of those flats.
What I like most about this picture is how it's perfect in its imperfections.
Song that fits the mood:
“One Way Flight” by Evan Sternbach
Just as this photo was taken, a man stepped out from the building and crossed the street. Then he paused — turned back — and looked up at the top left balcony. The person he cherished most lived there, and he knew they wouldn’t see each other for the next few months. Memories played through his mind, and his eyes started to sting from the kind of longing that settles into the body, long before the goodbye. He stood there a moment longer, then turned and kept walking.
